Why am I getting flagged by Shopee for creating duplicates?
There are two ways that Shopee flags duplicates:
- If you try to add a Shopify product that has the same name as an existing Shopee product, Shopee will complain and will not let the app add the product. You can read more about that here: Why am I getting a duplicate product error?
- If you try to add a product to Shopee with a similar name. For example, if you try to add 3 different products:
- Lotion 100ml
- Lotion 200ml
- Lotion 500ml
Shopee doesn't like this and may flag these products as duplicate after they are added. To fix this they recommend setting up a product with variants instead. For example, instead of 3 products you should have only 1 product named "Lotion" with 2 variants:
Once you set up the product on Shopify this way, you will be able to add the product to Shopee with the app.
