Delivery Type tag vs Carrier tag

Both tags help you sort your Shopee orders in Shopify by shipping. They come from different points in the order's life.

Delivery Type (e.g: 'Poslaju, Next Day Doorstep Delivery')

The shipping option your buyer chose at Shopee checkout. It's added as soon as the order is imported into Shopify.

Carrier (e.g: 'Carrier: GoGo Xpress')

The courier Shopee assigns to deliver the order. It's added once the order is ready to ship.

When are they the same?

If buyers pick a courier at checkout, both tags show the same name, e.g. Poslaju and Carrier: Poslaju.

When are they different?

If buyers pick a delivery service and Shopee chooses the courier later, the tags differ. A buyer who chooses Standard Local might get Carrier: GoGo Xpress, and Hemat Kargo might become Carrier: SPX Hemat.

Which should I use?

  • Use Delivery Type to sort orders by what the buyer chose, such as next-day delivery, as soon as they arrive.
  • Use Carrier to group orders by the courier that will collect them.
  • You can turn on both.

Good to know

  • Turn each tag on in the preferences page under Shopify Order Tags:
  • The Delivery Type tag is off by default and only applies to orders imported after you turn it on.
  • Shopify tags are limited to 40 characters, so longer delivery types are shortened to 40 characters and end in two dots (..).
