Use Shopify Draft Orders
While this is an option it is not recommended. Please email help@sanemen.com to enable this.
By default when importing orders from Marketplaces (Shopee, TikTok) to Shopify, the app will create Shopify Orders directly without using Shopify Draft Orders. When we skip the draft order and immediately create a full order. This method skips the automatic tax calculation, but will always set the proper sales channel. Another drawback on using this way is that orders created can no longer be edited, so if an order needs to be critically adjusted, users will usually request for us to re-create the order and they remove the old one after.
With this feature enabled we create a draft order and then complete it as a full order. This method allows automatic tax (vat, etc) calculation that some of our users need, but it breaks the sales channel as Shopify ignores whatever we set to it. If you need to edit Shopify Orders or need to support GST you will need to use draft orders.
However there are known problems with using draft orders! Here's a comparison of the two workflows:
Creating Shopify Orders directly
- the channel field will be correct
- is faster
- has less bugs
- Shopify Order cannot be edited
- Shopify Order will not include GST
Creating Shopify Orders with Draft Orders
- The channel field will be incorrect.
- is slower
- orders might not be created on time because of Shopify server errors
- Shopify Order can be edited
- Shopify Order will include GST if GST is configured correctly on Shopify
